Pimpri Chinchwad: Three succumb to burns in transformer blast in Bhosari; probe set up

Pimpri: An inquiry has been initiated by the district electrical inspector of the Maharashtra state government in the case of explosion of a power transformer in Indrayani Nagar in Bhosari. According to their inspection report, strict action will be taken against the guilty officers and employees of Maharashtra State Electricity Development Company Limited (MSEDCL) as well as the concerned transformer supplier agency. Meanwhile, the families of the three victims who died in this unfortunate incident will be given the assistance of Rs four lakh each.

The transformer exploded near Rajwada Building two in Indrayanagar in Bhosari around 1.30 pm on Saturday. Sharda Dilip Kotwal, Harshda Sachin Kakade and their five-month-old daughter died in the unfortunate incident. MSEDCL will provide financial assistance of Rs four lakh each to the families of the deceased.

The Maharashtra state government's electrical inspectors have started an investigation into the blast. According to their report, strict action will be taken against the culprits.

In addition, a three-member committee from MSEDCL is conducting an internal review into the blast. MSEDCL has also issued show-cause notices to the concerned officials. The exploded electric transformer was installed a few hours ago. A show-cause notice has also been issued to the agency supplying the transformation.
