According to the police, the family allegedly placed a toxic pesticide on burning charcoal late Friday night and inhaled the fumes inside their home. All three were found unconscious and rushed to YCM Hospital.

Vinod Pille was declared dead before treatment could begin. Sailaja and Purnima were admitted to the intensive care unit but died during treatment on Sunday.

Police recovered a suicide note written by Vinod Pille, stating that the family was ending their lives due to financial difficulties. The note also requested that no one be held responsible for their decision.

The investigation has further revealed that the pesticide used in the incident had been purchased online.

Investigators said Vinod had worked as a manager in a private company until November 2024. After losing his job, he remained unemployed. The family's financial condition reportedly worsened over time.

Due to mounting financial problems, the family sold their own house in Nehrunagar about three years ago and shifted to a rented apartment in Morwadi, where they had been living since.
