Two deputy commissioners, Ravi Pawar and Nikhil More, will prepare ward-wise voter lists for the Pune civic polls.
Pune has 41 wards and nearly 5,000 polling booths.
Fifteen regional offices will assist in voter list preparation under nodal officers.
Pune, 8th October 2025: As the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections near, the civic administration has begun compiling voter lists for each ward. To guarantee the process is finished precisely and punctually, Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram has delegated particular duties to two deputy municipal commissioners, Ravi Pawar and Nikhil More.
After the State Election Commission completed the ward structure, the civic body's next significant task is to revise and finalise the voter lists. The city now consists of 41 wards, and the number of polling stations has increased to almost 5,000, surpassing the count during the state assembly elections. This growth has added to the workload, leading the administration to decentralise duties for more efficient implementation.
Deputy Commissioner Ravi Pawar is responsible for overseeing wards 1 to 12, 25, and 27 to 35, which encompass a total of 22 wards. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Nikhil More will supervise wards 13 to 24, 26, and 36 to 41, amounting to 19 wards. Their main responsibilities involve the division, finalization, and submission of ward-specific voter lists to the election department, complete with official signatures and seals.
Furthermore, the city's 41 wards have been allocated to 15 regional offices. Each regional assistant commissioner will serve as the nodal officer responsible for preparing the voter lists. Each office will manage two to three wards, depending on its jurisdiction. Regional offices will assign engineers, health inspectors, and other personnel to help compile and verify the voter lists.
The administration aims to ensure that all voter lists at the ward level are compiled, checked, and submitted within the specified period to maintain transparency and efficiency in the upcoming Pune municipal elections.
