

Pune: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) officials will be holding their third meeting with local villagers of Maan village on Wednesday at the district collectorate office regarding the procurement of 50 acres of land in Maan village for car shed area of the Shivajinagar-Hinjewadi metro project.
At a press conference PMRDA Chief Kiran Gitte said they are positive that the villagers will support the project and accept the proposal so that there is a development in the Pune metro project. “Apart from 50 acres in Maan village, we are looking at 15 acres of land near Balewadi and another 5 acres in Mahalunge. These 20 acres will be used for commercial development,” added Gitte.
On the branding of station names Gitte said many companies have shown a positive response for the branding of railway stations including Infosys. “We are yet to decide the branding fee to be charged. Either it will be a one-time fee or an annual amount,” added Gitte. About the tender processing of the metro project, Gitte said three companies have qualified for the metro project and these three companies can take part in the tender processing of the project. PMRDA has hired two consultant companies for legal, financial and other consultancy needs.
