Pune: Too help villagers and save their time, Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) has started two new regional offices in Mahalunge and Wadachiwadi area, informed Chief Executive Officer Kiran Gitte.
Officials of the PMRDA said they have proposed six town planning schemes in Nimbalkarwadi, Yewalewadi, Pisoli, Wadachiwadi, Handewadi-Autadwadi and Holkarwadi and hence an office was started by PMRDA in Wadachiwadi. "Farmers of these villages need not come to Aundh office to solve their problems. Our officials will be handling problems of villagers at the respective offices," added Gitte.
While the first Town Planning Scheme (TPS) is to be implemented in Mahalunge area, other TPSs are to come at the Ambegaon Khurd to Wagholi stretch of Ring Road. PMRDA officials said that, in all, 19 TPSs are planned on this stretch. Gitte said that the offices will help to speed up the work of Ring Road development. "The earlier the local villagers hand over the land to us, the sooner we will start the development works," added Gitte.
PMRDA officials said that both the offices have been started at the local gram panchayat offices respectively. "Officials of PMRDA will be deployed on a timely basis to solve problems of farmers and get the arbitration work done," PMRDA officials said.
