Police solve baffling case of beheaded body in Kondhwa

Pune: The Kondhwa police solved the murder case of a youth, whose beheaded body was found in the Khadi Machine area of Kondhwa on Tuesday.

The youth has been identified as Umesh Ingle (20), a resident of Annabhau Sathe Nagar in Bibvewadi. The police have arrested the accused, who committed the murder. He has been identified as Nizam Hashmi. Hashmi allegedly killed Ingle as the two had a feud owing to an affair between Hashmi and Ingle’s relative.

The half-naked beheaded body of Ingle was found at a secluded plot in Khadi Machine area and was reported to the police by locals. After police initiated an investigation into the matter, they started searching for missing person records and came to know about a missing complaint of the 20-year-old youth, which was registered at Bibwewadi police station on Monday.

Milind Gaikwad, Police Inspector, Kondhwa police station, said, “We called up the relatives of the deceased and were informed by them that the deceased was missing since June 16 after he visited Fitness Forever Gym in Bibwewadi. During the investigation, we came to know that he was last seen with the accused Hashmi, whom we later called to the police station. He confessed to killing Ingle during interrogation.”
Police said that the deceased and the accused had fought with each other in the past over the affair between Hashmi and Ingle’s relative. Police have booked Hashmi for murder.
