Pune, 14 April 2026: In a major crackdown to curb criminal activity, the Pune Police have externed 10 habitual offenders from the district for an extended period. Additionally, action was taken against 135 individuals under short-term externment for three days as part of a focused enforcement drive.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Somay Munde and covered areas under Zone 7, including Vimannagar, Chandannagar, Wagholi, and Lonikand police stations.

The drive specifically targeted individuals involved in serious offences, crimes against persons and property, as well as those engaged in illegal liquor trade and narcotics distribution.

The list of externed offenders includes residents from Vadgaonsheri, Vimannagar, Wagholi, Lonikand, and nearby areas in Haveli taluka. Police have urged citizens to immediately report if any of these individuals are found within Pune district limits.

“Strict action has been taken to control criminal tendencies in the city. Citizens should inform the police by dialing 112 if any externed individual is spotted within the district,” said DCP Somay Munde.

Police officials also stated that surveillance on other known offenders is ongoing, and preventive action against more than 100 additional individuals is expected in the coming days as part of continued efforts to maintain law and order.
