Pune, 4th December 2025: In a shocking cheating case from Pune’s Kothrud area, the accused charged with defrauding a computer engineer and his wife of ₹14.39 crore have submitted a written assurance before the court, promising to return the entire amount within 30 days if they are granted temporary bail.

According to the investigation, the victims were convinced that the accused could cure their daughters’ severe medical condition. Using this claim, the accused allegedly collected large sums of money from the couple over a period of time.

The key accused, Vedika Kunal Pandharpurkar (41), Kunal Vaijnath Pandharpurkar (42) of Kothrud, and Deepak Janardan Khadke (65) of Nashik, have been arrested. Cases have also been registered against Vedika’s mother and brother.

Police revealed that the victims transferred money to multiple bank accounts belonging to the accused. Out of 39 accounts identified, details of 13 accounts were obtained, showing clear evidence of funds being routed through them.

Investigators found that the accused used the money to purchase properties and vehicles and made over 1,100 suspicious transactions. Several registered documents related to these assets have been seized.

The accused have accepted receiving the money and stated in the written undertaking that they are ready to repay the entire amount within 30 days of being released from jail on temporary bail.

With their police custody ending, the accused was produced before the district and sessions court. After hearing arguments from the prosecution and the complainant’s lawyer, the court remanded the accused to judicial custody. They have now been sent to Yerwada Jail as further investigation continues.
