Pune, 1st December 2025: In the Borhademala area of Shirur taluka, Pune, a four-year-old girl, Shubhra Pandharinath Borhade, was seriously injured after being hit by a speeding car on the Pune-Ahilyanagar highway. The car, reportedly a black Mercedes (MH 12 NX 1391) from the convoy of NCP MLA Dnyaneshwar Katke, struck the child while she was crossing the road.
Eyewitnesses said the impact was so severe that Shubhra was thrown several meters into the air. She suffered broken teeth, jaw injuries, and deep cuts on her face. Residents described the accident as horrifying and rushed to help the child immediately.
Local residents first took her to Vatsalya Hospital in Shirur for emergency treatment. Due to the seriousness of her injuries, doctors referred her to KEM Hospital in Pune for advanced care. The child remains in critical condition.
Despite the gravity of the accident, police initially did not file an official report, and hospitals have not provided any updates. The lack of immediate action has sparked anger among locals, raising concerns about possible political influence in handling the case.
Residents are now demanding a full and transparent investigation to ensure accountability. The incident has sparked widespread discussion in Shirur, with calls for authorities to act quickly and prevent similar accidents in the future.
