Pimpri: In an attempt to stop the spread of coronavirus, 41 architecture students conducted a virtual study by coming together for a project. Under the project, the students have come up with a labyrinth pattern under self-protection project for containment zones to control the spread of the deadly virus.
The project involves suggestions for bringing about changes in the accommodation of patients in restricted areas and shifting of people living in the buffer zone elsewhere.
Working together under the Adamyoday foundation, these third-year students aim to reduce the fear of the people living in corona affected area while reducing the number of containment zones and increasing rate of patients’ recovery.
The project was structured under the guidance of architect Harshad Mehandale, Atharva Kulkarni, Manasi Gambhire, Varun Bhusani, Tushar Chauhan, Shruti Ingole, Rutuja Bankar, and other third-year students studied under this project.
Talking about the project, Atharva Kulkarni said, “Four levels are decided in a labyrinth pattern. Patients with little and very little symptoms are suggested to be kept in the centre point of the pattern. For that, it is suggested to use a closed area or public building. There only they should be treated. Outside that buffer zones will be created and people residing over there should be moved to somewhere else. People living outside that, which will be an orange zone, will get essential permissions through e-pass. And the outermost area will be the green zone where people will be allowed to continue their daily work.”
He also added that mask, sanitiser and regular temperature check-up will be compulsory.
