Pune, 16 June 2025: In an effort to tackle persistent traffic congestion at Pune airport, the administration has introduced a new policy under which private four-wheelers halting in front of the terminal for more than 15 minutes will face a fine of ₹500. The measure has received approval from the Delhi headquarters, and implementation has begun.
According to airport officials, vehicles parked for extended periods in front of the terminal have been a major cause of obstruction and inconvenience to passengers and traffic management teams. To address this issue, a dedicated enforcement team will monitor vehicle movement and issue fines to violators, ensuring smoother traffic flow and reducing unnecessary crowding.
Regular travellers have welcomed the initiative, anticipating fewer delays and an overall improvement in the airport experience. The administration expects that strict enforcement of the new rule will significantly streamline vehicular movement around the terminal area.
