Pune airport resumes domestic flight operations

Pune: After a gap of two months first flight of Indigo landed at Pune airport on today morning at 6.42 am. As many as 23 passengers arrived by this aircraft.

According to the officials, "Indigo flight no 6E-0643 from Delhi landed at the airport at 6.42 am. The flight number SG-8937 departed from Pune to Delhi and flight number 6E-6571 also departed for Delhi."

However, the passengers and airline staff were a little nervous. A flight attendant said that this is the first time that while on duty they are nervous.

Pune airport director Kuldeep Singh said, "All the passengers are hand stamped and advised 14 days home isolation with self monitoring of their health. Kindly cooperate with our security staff to curb the spread of disease."

However, the director also clarified that passengers do not need to wear a certified medical PPE kit with full body coverall. "Our only requirements are Green on Aarogya Setu, Normal body temperature and face mask at all times," he said.

To protect the staff involved at all Airport Authority Of India (AAI), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and staff of airlines have been provided face shields, mask, gloves and PPE kits. 

The security personnel are sanitizing their equipment after checking each the passenger. "However, it takes a little time, but passengers are cooperating with us," said a senior officer of CISF deputed at Pune airport.

Till afternoon two flights had arrived Pune with 158 passengers while three flights had departed with 372 passengers.
