Pune: Finally, Punekars can breathe a sigh of relief as the graph of COVID-19 is gradually flattening its curve in the district. With infection rate declining in the district, the administration is set to held a campaign to aware people of the precautionary measures against the novel virus.

The People’s campaign will boost the morale of the people in order to keep themselves as well as their area safe from the further spread of the infection. The campaign aims on educating people on behavioural changes and the approach which will help control the spread of COVID-19.

Dr Subhash Salunkhe who will head the taskforce was quoted by Indian Express as saying, “The downward trend of new infections is a positive sign but this needs to be sustained till the end of the month, when a significant plateauing of cases can be registered.”

“We have tied up with more than 30-35 NGOs and have been actively working on how to get people to change their behaviour and ensure that they adhere to norms like wearing a mask, sanitising hands and maintaining social distance,” he added.

Along the lines of the state government’s initiative of `My family, my responsibility’, the Pune-targeted campaign which is slated to begin from October 16 is devoted to keeping the city and their people safe.
