Pune, 24 November 2025: After leopard was seen in Aundh on Sunday, early morning, Pune was on high alert. But, since the initial sighting, the Forest Department has found no fresh confirmation from eyewitnesses. Officials also said that no CCTV camera in the area has captured the leopard.
Forest teams searched the locality through the day and confirmed that no footprints or other physical traces of the animal were found. This has raised uncertainty about the leopard’s current location or movement.
On Monday night, the Forest Department and the RESQ team conducted a large-scale search across suspected zones. Using thermal drones, they scanned Aundh and nearby areas, but the operation did not reveal any signs of the leopard.
Authorities have urged Pune residents to remain cautious but avoid unnecessary fear. They assured that the department is monitoring the situation closely and will continue surveillance until the area is declared safe.
Meanwhile, the Forest Department has issued a strong warning against spreading AI-generated or fake leopard images on social media. Officials said such misinformation creates panic, and those circulating fabricated photos or messages may face legal action under existing government rules.
