Pune: The city traffic police department has diverted traffic coming from Aundh towards Shivajinagar along with some minor changes in front of E Square multiplex from Friday (July 31) to August 8.

Prakash More, Assistant Police Inspector at Chatuhshrungi Traffic Division said, “The traffic diversions have been made in order to facilitate the demolition work of the flyover at the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) junction and also the second flyover in front of E Square multiplex near Rangehills road.”

From Aundh to Shivajinagar

  • Motorists coming from Aundh and heading towards Shivajinagar will now have to take a left turn at the Chatuhshrungi police station
  • Enter the Millennium Gate of Pune University
  • Take right turn to exit from the main entrance gate of Pune University
  • Get on Ganeshkhind road towards Shivajinagar

Pune University to Shivajinagar

  • Take right turn before E Square flyover starts and proceed till Shree Seva Indian Oil Petrol Pump
  • Turn left just where the flyover ends in front of RBI Agricultural Banking College
  • Proceed towards Shivajinagar as usual on Ganeshkhind road

Shivajinagar to Pashan, Baner and Aundh

  • On Ganeshkhind road, turn left ahead of Central Mall
  • Get along Sanganna Dhotre Path up to Dhotre Chowk roundabout
  • Take third exit near Om Super Market chowk and head towards Bahirat Patil Chowk
  • Go straight up to Vitthalrao Tukaram Bhosale chowk on Senapati Bapat road
  • Take right turn on Senapati Bapat road towards Chatuhshrungi mandir
  • Two-wheelers can take the Angal lane to reach the Pune University junction and head towards Pashan and Baner through the NCL road; for Aundh, take the old route itself
  • Instead of Angal lane, motorists can also take left at the junction of S B Road and Ganeshkhind road and head towards Pashan, Baner and Aundh

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has started demolishing the Aundh wing of the SPPU flyover and the Rangehills flyover too simultaneously. Considering the impact on vehicular traffic during the demolition work, traffic on both these stretches has been diverted for a week.
