Pune-Bengaluru Highway accident: Four killed, one injured in a car mishap

Karad: Four persons were killed while one left injured in a road accident on the Pune-Bengaluru Highway near Karad area of Satara district.

According to the police, four people from Sindhudurg were killed while one person was seriously injured after their car rammed to the opposite strip of the Pune-Bengaluru Highway and hit another car on Sunday. The deceased are identified as Nilesh Mondkar, Manoj Parab, Ankush Shinde and Bharat Bodekar, all are in their 30s.

According to the police officials, the accident took place at 1.30 pm on Sunday when five persons from Kudal in Sindhudurg district were heading towards Ahmednagar to attend a function. The accident took place in Vahagaon village near Karad in Satara district. The police further informed that a car from Kolhapur was heading towards Pune. Nearly around 1.30 pm, the driver of the car lost the control over the wheel before jumping off the divider and collided head-on with a vehicle coming moving from the opposite direction.
