The city’s pothole problem is also expected to remain an important local issue around the meeting. Pune BJP president Dheeraj Ghate said the party has repeatedly followed up with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to ensure that roads are repaired and potholes are filled before the Ganeshotsav celebrations.

The BJP has been pressing the civic administration to make roads safer and pothole-free ahead of the festival, when large crowds and increased traffic are expected across the city.
