Pune, 8th January 2026: The Bopdev Ghat road, a route connecting Saswad and Pune city, has been completely closed for all types of traffic from today until Wednesday (January 14). The decision has been taken by the Public Works Department (PWD) in view of ongoing road repair and widening work in the ghat section.
According to the PWD, major improvement work is currently underway on this stretch. To ensure construction quality and public safety, the administration has decided to keep the road fully shut for a week rather than allowing partial or one-way movement.
Officials have clarified that even one-way traffic will not be permitted during this period. Vehicle users have been urged not to travel via Bopdev Ghat and to plan their journeys using alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.
The administration has appealed to commuters to cooperate, stating that the temporary closure is necessary to ensure a safer and better road in the long run.
