Pune: In the first merit list of the class 11 admission, it is seen that the cut-off of the reputed colleges in the city has increased by four to ten percent. It shows that the cut-off for a college’s non-subsidized seats for art course has increased by 22 per cent over the previous year. This is probably the first time that the cut-off for the class 11 admission has increased significantly, say experts.

The results of Class X examinations conducted by the State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, including CBSE and ICSE, have increased this year. Therefore, it was already clear that the cut-off for the class 11 admission would increase this year. With the increase in cut-off this year, the number of students seeking admission in reputed colleges will also increase.

Dr Rajendra Zunjarrao, Principal of Modern College Shivajinagar said, “Earlier, it was said that the cut-off for the class 11 admission would be increased by five to seven per cent as the percentage of the total results of the class 10 has increased this year. The cut-off for unsubsidized arts (English medium) in colleges this year is higher than for science. The cut-off for the subsidized science course has increased by 4.20 per cent as compared to last year, the unsubsidized science branch has increased by 12.40 per cent, the subsidized commerce branch has increased by 6 per cent and the subsidized arts branch (Marathi medium) has increased by 22 per cent.” The first round cut-off (in percentage) of reputed colleges in the city:
