Pune, 25 February 2026: In a shocking incident, a Class 12 student was attacked with a sickle in Kothrud on Tuesday afternoon shortly after stepping out of his Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination centre. The assault reportedly stemmed from a dispute between students.

The victim and the accused are both Class 12 students who had appeared for their board examination at a college in Erandwane. Around 2:30 pm, as students exited the examination centre after completing their paper, one of the juveniles, along with his associates, allegedly attacked the victim with a sickle.

The injured student, a resident of Karvenagar, sustained a serious head injury and was rushed for medical treatment. His condition is reported to be critical.

Senior Police Inspector Sandeep Deshmane said that two juveniles from the Ramnagar-Warje area have been taken into custody in connection with the case. Police are investigating the motive behind the attack and how the accused managed to bring a weapon near the examination centre.
