

Pune, 18th May 2026: In a horrifying case of domestic violence man from Uruli Kanchan poured acid on his wife’s private parts and allegedly keeping her locked inside the house for 15 days. Police have registered a case against the accused and launched a search operation to trace him.
According to police, the incident took place on April 20 when the accused allegedly returned home drunk and began abusing and assaulting his wife. He reportedly accused her of having an extramarital affair because she used to go out for work. During the assault, he allegedly brought a bottle of acid and poured it on her private parts.
The woman screamed in pain and tried to escape from the house, but the accused allegedly locked the door from inside and continued beating her. Hearing the commotion, a nearby relative alerted the family members. Before fleeing the house, the accused allegedly threatened the victim with severe consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone.
Police said the victim remained confined inside the house for nearly 15 days without receiving proper medical treatment despite suffering serious injuries. She finally managed to escape when the accused left for work. Taking her two daughters along, she reached her parental home and informed her relatives about the torture she had endured.
The family then approached the Uruli Kanchan Police Station, after which police shifted the victim to Sassoon General Hospital for treatment. After receiving medical care, the woman formally lodged a complaint on May 15.
Police Inspector Sachin Wangde confirmed that a case has been registered against the husband and efforts are underway to arrest him.
The shocking incident has sparked outrage in the Uruli Kanchan area, with many expressing concern over the increasing number of domestic violence cases against women. The alleged act of assaulting the woman with acid and confining her without treatment for days has drawn widespread condemnation.
