

Pune, 13th July 2026: A major burglary was reported from a jewellery store in Manjari under the Hadapsar police station limits, where unidentified thieves allegedly stole around 30 kg of gold and silver jewellery along with other valuables. The incident came to light on Monday morning when the shop owner opened the store.
According to the preliminary police investigation, the burglars first entered an adjoining room before creating a large hole in the common wall to gain access to the jewellery shop. Once inside, they broke open lockers and storage cabinets containing jewellery and escaped with a substantial quantity of ornaments and other valuable items.
Police officials reached the spot soon after receiving information about the theft and conducted a spot inspection. Teams from the Crime Branch, forensic experts and the dog squad were also deployed as part of the investigation. CCTV footage from the surrounding area has been collected and is being analysed to trace the suspects.
Investigators suspect the accused had surveyed the shop in advance and planned the burglary carefully. The exact quantity and value of the stolen property are still being verified, though preliminary estimates suggest the stolen cache includes around 30 kg of gold and silver jewellery and other valuables.
The incident has raised concerns among jewellery traders in the Manjari area. Police have formed special teams to identify and arrest those involved in the burglary, and further investigation is underway.
