Pune: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is holding a series of meetings with District Collector, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Forest, Defence, Public Works Department, PMRDA and other officials to fast track the 32 road projects in Wadgaon Sheri assembly constituency including the much-awaited Shivane-Kharadi riverside road and Vishrantwadi, Kharadi, Shastri Nagar, Golfclub flyover project.
The Shivane-Kharadi riverside road was proposed in the 1987 Development Plan of the city. The 22 kilometres long and 30-metre-wide road has been stuck in land acquisition disputes for a long time. PMC has started the work of this project but has not made satisfactory progress.
Sunil Tingre, Member of Legislative Assembly from Wadgaon Sheri constituency said, “These road projects have been delayed or stuck due to no coordination between different departments of state and central government which are involved in the various approval processes. So we had requested Deputy CM Pawar to take a meeting with all department heads and other concerned officials to fast track work on these projects.”
