Pune: Investigations into the killing of the sand supplier in broad daylight in Wanawadi a few days before has revealed chilling details. The sand supplier was killed as he was proving as an 'impediment' in an illicit affair and a 'Supari Killer' was hired to murder him. Rs 30 lakh was paid as blood money to the suspects.

The deceased was identified as Mayur Hande (29). Police had arrested two suspects Rajesh Bhiku Padwal (25), a resident of Gorhe in Haveli Tehsil and Balasaheb Anant Jadhav (52), a resident of Handewadi in Hadapsar.

Mayur was killed allegedly by the two suspects on October 12. He was fired upon by the suspects with a revolver. Police had later nabbed the two suspects Padwal and Jadhav and produced them in the court. The court had remanded them into police custody. During their interrogation, the suspects confessed to have killed Mayur Hande in exchange of Rs 30 lakh as 'blood money' (supari).

One of the suspects, Padwal, revealed that the other suspect Jadhav is a builder by profession and he had given Rs 30 lakh to kill Mayur Hande. Hande and Jadhav had some disputes over an illicit affair and hence Jadhav decided to get rid of Hande by killing him. Police Inspector Krantikumar Patil is investigating the case further.
