Pune, 28th July 2026: Traffic on Dive Ghat will remain completely suspended for two hours today (Tuesday, July 28) as authorities carry out controlled blasting for the ongoing road widening project. The closure will be in effect from 12 pm to 2 pm to ensure the safety of commuters during the work.
Road widening work is currently underway in Dive Ghat, which involves cutting through sections of the hillside. As part of the project, officials will conduct controlled explosions to remove rock safely. To prevent any risk to motorists, the road will remain closed during the blasting operation.
Traffic police have appealed to commuters travelling between Pune and Saswad to avoid using Dive Ghat during the closure period. Instead, motorists are advised to travel via Kondhwa–Bopdev Ghat, which has been designated as the alternate route until traffic resumes after 2 pm.
Authorities have urged travellers to plan their journeys in advance to avoid delays and congestion.
