Pune: Eleven-year-old girl sexually assaulted by father

Pune: In a shocking incident, an 11-year-old girl was sexually abused by her father repeatedly, until her mother caught him red-handed.

The incident came to light on Friday, after the 34-year-old mother lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against her husband (34) with Dighi police station which falls under the jurisdiction of the Pimpri-Chinchwad police commissionerate.

Speaking to Sakal Times, Police Sub-inspector Pournima Kadam who is investigating the case said, " The victim is 11-years-old and has a younger sibling, a brother. On Thursday, the complainant was busy cooking food when the husband took the elder daughter along with him towards a closed hawker stall near there house."

"Upon noticing that both the father and the daughter were gone for a long time, the mother went to check near the hawker stall. She found them both there in a suspicious state. After dinner, she asked her daughter about earlier and that is when she spilled the beans. The daughter revealed that the father had been touring her. She was unaware of the bad touch and assumed it to be her father's love."

Thankfully, the community was alert and informed the police about the heinous crime. "We were alerted by the community and were about to counsel the mother about the importance of bringing such crimes to light. Later the victim revealed that the father had manhandled her on earlier occasions too. This made the complaint stronger and we were able to register a case against the father. We have arrested a father who is into the rental business of giving cars to multinational companies. We are probing the case."

On Friday, the father of the victim was arrested and produced before the court of judicial magistrate first class and remanded to Police custody for two days.

The victim and her mother are undergoing counselling and Medical treatment in a government hospital.
