Pune, 31 July 2025: The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has introduced a free library service at the new terminal building of Pune International Airport, aiming to create a more engaging and relaxing environment for travellers. The initiative offers passengers an opportunity to spend their waiting time reading books, adding a thoughtful touch to the airport experience.
Located in the terminal’s waiting area, the library currently houses over 100 books in various genres including fiction, non-fiction, travel, biographies, and regional literature. The facility is part of AAI’s broader effort to upgrade passenger amenities and offer value-added services.
Pune Airport Director Santosh Dhoke said the initiative is a first for the city’s airport. He added that the goal is to make waiting time more productive and enjoyable for passengers. The collection may be expanded in the future depending on traveller feedback and usage.
The library is accessible to all flyers without the need for any registration or payment. Passengers are free to pick a book of their choice and read while they wait. The move has already received positive response from regular travellers and book lovers alike, positioning Pune Airport as a more people-friendly and experience-driven travel hub.
