Pune Ganeshotsav: PMC to increase mobile artificial tanks for immersion

In order to make Ganesh idols immersion more convenient for the people, the number of mobile tanks will be increased and the location of the ponds will also be made known to the people of Pune through the field offices, informed Pune City Mayor Murlidhar Mohol.

A number of people opted for an eco-friendly way of immersing the idols at homes as the administration had appealed to residents to immerse idols at home or at the immersion centres, mobile artificial tanks started around the city to avoid the crowd.

Mayor Mohol had organised a meeting to review the preparations for the immersion of Ganesh idols. The meeting was attended by Standing Committee President Hemant Rasne, Congress group leader Aba Bagul, MNS group leader Vasant More, PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar and various department heads and officials. 90 per cent of the immersion of the one and a half-day old Ganesh idols were done at home.
