Pune, 12 November 2025: Pune authorities destroyed yet another illegal structure linked to notorious criminal Bandu Andekar. The structure, known as “Warkari Bhavan,” was reportedly being used for extortion, gambling, and other criminal activities under the name of religious service.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Krishikesh Rawale, police received information that the building was being misused for illegal operations. Following a swift probe, officials discovered that the construction had no official permission and had even encroached upon the road.

A joint team from the Pune Police and Pune Municipal Corporation began demolition work early Monday morning, which is expected to continue into Tuesday. The action marks another step in the city’s ongoing crackdown on illegal constructions associated with local gangsters.

Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar has launched a drive to cut off the financial networks of repeat offenders. Properties and bank accounts belonging to several well-known criminals, including Bandu Andekar, Nilesh Ghaywal, Gaja Marne, and Rizwan alias Tipu Pathan, are being seized or frozen.
