Pune: Have a flight to catch from Lohegaon airport? Do consider opting for ‘Abhi’
Pune: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) on Friday started air-conditioned electric bus services from the airport to five areas of the city. ‘Abhi’, the airport bus service of the PMPML was launched at the hands of Pune MP and Chairman of Airport Advisory Committee Girish Bapat on Friday.
Airport Director Kuldeep Singh, MLA Madhuri Misal, Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, Pimpri Chinchwad Mayor Mai Dhore, PMPML President and Managing Director Dr Rajendra Jagtap, Co-Managing Director Chetana Kerure, Standing Committee Chairman Santosh Londhe and PMPL officials and staff were present.
The buses under the scheme will initially run on five routes in the city, with a total of 43 smart electric buses ferrying passengers from different parts of the city to the airport. Ticket prices of the buses will start at Rs 50 with highest ticket costing Rs 180.
In order to get the information about the buses, the passengers can check the LED screens that will be installed at the airport gates. Also, info boards will be setup in English and Marathi at six locations with the airport premises. These buses will have enough adequate space where passengers can place their luggage.
