Pune, 11 November 2025: Another incident of drunk-driving in Pune’s Kalepadal area left four people injured after a speeding car rammed into six parked vehicles near Shriram Chowk on Monday night. The injured were rushed to a private hospital and are undergoing treatment.

The incident took place around 9:15 pm. Police detained the driver, identified as Prashant Ramesh Patil (45), a resident of Sasanenagar and an employee of the Ordnance Factory in Khadki. According to police, Patil lost control of his vehicle and crashed into multiple vehicles lined up along the road.

Local residents and police officials quickly assisted the injured and shifted them to a nearby hospital. Traffic and local police teams later reached the spot and took Patil into custody. His medical examination is underway.

A case has been registered at the Kalepadal Police Station. Police officials said action will be taken as per law following medical test results. Increased drunk and driving incidences are raising questions over responsible drinking and driving.
