Pune, 20th August 2026: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force carried out a major raid in Kondhwa and arrested two people allegedly involved in the illegal sale of marijuana. Police seized around 2.5 kg of marijuana during the operation.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Ganesh Patole and Aju Ahmed Sheikh, according to police. Both are suspected of being involved in the sale and distribution of the drug in the area.
In a significant development, police also detained 43 people who had allegedly gathered at the location to purchase marijuana. They are being questioned to determine their connection with the alleged sellers and their involvement in the drug trade.
Police are also examining why the individuals had come to the spot, whether they had previously purchased drugs from the suspects and whether there are other people linked to the network.
The large number of people detained during the raid has raised concerns about the extent of illegal drug activity in the Kondhwa area. Investigators are now working to identify the wider network involved in the alleged sale and distribution of marijuana.
The Anti-Narcotics Task Force is continuing its investigation, and further action may follow based on information obtained during questioning.
