A meeting was held at Kondhwa Police Station on Monday evening in the presence of Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav and civic officials. Local representatives, residents, and tanker operators also attended the discussion focused on road safety and water supply issues.

Officials acknowledged that uncontrolled tanker movement has become a serious safety risk. Residents highlighted that housing societies are forced to spend large amounts every month on tanker water due to inadequate municipal supply.

Police officials stated that clear instructions have been issued regarding speed limits and designated timings for tanker movement, adding that public safety will be the top priority and violations will invite strict penalties.

Meanwhile, the civic administration assured that efforts are underway to improve water supply. Three new water storage tanks in the area are expected to become operational within the next month, which is likely to reduce dependence on private tankers.

“High-rise buildings have come up in Kondhwa, NIBM, Undri and Pisoli without adequate water and infrastructure. Speeding tankers are causing accidents and putting innocent lives at risk. Authorities must address both traffic and water issues seriously, or we will approach the court,” said social activist Raj Singh.
