Pune lockdown: Check how to apply for e-pass

Pune: A strict shutdown will be imposed from July 14 in limits of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, Pune rural areas, Cantonment Areas in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases. PMC, as well as PCMC, has issued guidelines for two-phase lockdown which starts from July 13 midnight to July 23.

The first phase of the lockdown (July 14-July 18) will only allow operating medical shops, dairies and hospitals while the second phase (July 19-July 23) will permit shops delivering essential goods adding to those who are allowed in the first phase.

On the other side, the Pune Police are issuing digital passes only to those working in the essential services.

Ashok Morale, Additional Police Commissioner of Pune talking to Sakal Times, said, “We request the people to apply for e-pass only if you are in essential services. A dedicated team has already been allotted to ease the requests for a digital pass.”

“In the earlier phase of the lockdown, we received over one lakh applications for e-pass. In this lockdown, IT companies too have been permitted to run with 15 per cent of staff thus to ensure all passes are being approved and delivered additional police personnel are being deployed for the same,” he added.

PROCEDURE TO APPLY FOR E-PASS

Step 1: Visit the website https://www.punepolice.in/

Step 2: Select the travel destination (Within Pune)

Step 3: One must fill all the required fields

  • Name
  • Mobile number
  • Aadhar Card number
  • Vehicle registration number
  • From location
  • To location

Step 4: One must also upload the supporting document.

Step 5:.Send the form and wait for the approval.

Step 6: On approval, one will receive the message on the mobile phone from the authority.

Step 7: The application will be reviewed by the police. Then, the pass will be issued.

Step 8: People can also check the status of their application.

The decision of the strict lockdown was taken after Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar who is also the District Guardian Minister chaired a meeting with PMC and PCMC officials recently.
