Pune, 17 April 2026: A boundary wall of a residential society collapsed in Mangalwar Peth early on Wednesday morning, damaging two parked auto-rickshaws. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported as the incident occurred during the early hours.
According to fire brigade officials, the incident took place around 6:45 am when an old boundary wall of Sushila Society suddenly gave way. The wall fell directly onto two auto-rickshaws that were parked beside it, trapping them under the debris.
Upon receiving the alert, a team from the Kasba fire station rushed to the spot and began rescue operations. Led by Station Officer Kamlesh Chaudhary, the personnel worked quickly to remove the debris and retrieve the damaged vehicles.
“Both rickshaws were trapped under the rubble after the wall collapsed. Our team removed the debris and safely cleared the vehicles,” officials said.
The incident has once again raised concerns about the condition of aging structures in densely populated areas of the Pune.
