Pune, 22nd September 2026: A 20-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was travelling on was hit by a dumper in Mohammadwadi on Monday (September 21) evening. The accident took place near Mahadev Temple in the Reheja Vistas area around 5 pm.
The deceased has been identified as Hamza Ibrahim Sarkar, 20. His pillion rider, Case Wasim Khan, 20, sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
According to police, Hamza and Wasim were travelling through the Reheja Vistas area on a motorcycle when the dumper collided with their vehicle. Following the impact, the motorcycle went under the dumper’s rear wheel, causing serious injuries to Hamza.
He was rushed to a hospital for treatment but was declared dead before treatment could begin.
Police have detained the dumper involved in the accident and its driver, Bhagnnna Laxman Katbu, 34, for further investigation. The circumstances leading to the collision are being investigated.
