The allegations came after Vishrambaug Police registered a case against 15 protesters, including 14 students, for allegedly holding an unauthorised protest on Lal Bahadur Shastri Road in Navi Peth. The action was taken after the protesters were informed that permission for the agitation had been revoked.

At a press conference, the protesters claimed that the cases were linked to evidence they had submitted regarding alleged irregularities in the MPSC Group B examination.

Advocate Dr Ajit Kakade alleged that the police had deliberately included the name of a person who was already in jail in another case in the FIR. He also claimed that evidence suggesting irregularities in the combined examination, including candidates scoring 90 out of 100 marks, had recently been submitted to the SIT.

Kakade said, "We have submitted evidence of a major examination scam to the SIT. The action against us is intended to hide the alleged irregularities. Our agitation had received police permission, and the court has also taken note of the students' difficulties. If the government continues to ignore our demands, we will intensify the agitation across Maharashtra."

Protester Rishikesh Gangarde, who described himself as the original complainant in the alleged MPSC paper leak case, also accused the police of filing a false case to suppress the students' voices.

Gangarde claimed that he was neither in Pune city nor in Pune district when the incident occurred. He said he had recently presented the evidence submitted to the SIT before the students.

"I was not present in Pune city or district when the incident took place. I am the original complainant in the MPSC paper leak case, and I recently presented the evidence submitted to the SIT before the students. A false case has been filed against me to silence them. This is a case of punishing the innocent while letting the guilty go free. The students will not be intimidated by such pressure or false cases," Gangarde said.
