Pune Municipal Corporation starts pre-isolation centre at Bopodi for SARI patients

PUNE: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started a pre-isolation centre for severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) in Bopodi area and also instructed all private hospitals and practitioners to start OPD and prefer PMC hospital.


On Tuesday, PMC commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad stated that PMC has made arrangements at late Dr Draupadi Murlidhar Khedekar hospital located at Bopodi area for SARI patients. He issued a press release in which the commissioner instructed all nurses who are conducting ward wise surveys to send SARI patients to Khedekar hospital. PMC has started an isolation centre of 25 beds on the first and second floor of the hospital. The corporation has also set up all necessary medical facilities in hospitals for checkups and medicines.  


He also stated that if they find any positive case, they should have to refer to Naidu hospital with state government mentioned protocol regarding COVID -19 patients. Corporation has made arrangements of ambulance service to admit positive patients in Naidu hospital.


PMC commissioner Gaikwad has also appealed to all practitioners and private hospitals to start their dispensaries and refer SARI patients to Khedekar hospital. PMC has mentioned Khedekar hospital landline number and appealed to contact - 020-25818323. The corporation deputed Dr Swati Bade (Residential medical officer) 8806668747.
