

Pune, 10th October 2026: Traffic Police have announced traffic restrictions and diversions across the city for the Sharadiya Navratri festival. Roads around Shri Tambdi Jogeshwari Temple, Shri Chatushrungi Temple, Shri Bhavani Mata Temple in Bhavani Peth, and Shri Mahalakshmi Temple at Sarasbaug will be closed or regulated to manage the expected rush of devotees.
From Sunday, October 11, the road between Appa Balwant Chowk and Budhwar Chowk (Hutatma Chowk) will be closed to traffic. One-way traffic will continue from Budhwar Chowk towards Appa Balwant Chowk.
The road between Ganpati Chowk on Laxmi Road and Tambdi Jogeshwari Temple will also remain closed. Additionally, the road from the Sakal office towards the temple will be restricted to all vehicles except those providing essential services.
If crowds increase near Shri Chatushrungi Temple on Senapati Bapat Road, traffic will be diverted via Vetal Baba Chowk, Deep Bungalow Chowk and Om Super Market.
Traffic heading towards Shri Bhavani Mata Temple in Bhavani Peth via Nehru Road will be stopped. If the number of devotees increases, further traffic changes will be introduced on Nehru Road to prevent congestion.
Special traffic arrangements will be in place near Shri Mahalakshmi Temple at Sarasbaug on Monday, October 12, from 5 am to 7 am for the Shri Sukta recitation programme.
The road from Swargate via Sarasbaug towards the Swatantryaveer Savarkar statue will remain closed. Traffic from Mitra Mandal Chowk towards Puram Chowk will also be stopped.
Vehicles coming from Mitra Mandal Chowk should use Savarkar Chowk and Sinhagad Road to reach their destinations. Vehicles travelling along Sinhagad Road towards Savarkar Chowk should take the route via Laxminarayan Chowk instead.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr Sandeep Bhajibhakare has appealed to motorists to follow the designated diversions and cooperate with traffic police during the festival.
