PUNE: The Strokes Foundation, a non-profit organisation based in Pune, set a world record in making 11,275 Ganesh idols in just 21 days. It had organised a workshop in 2018, in which 32 schools had participated.

The event went on to be mentioned in the International Wonder Book of Records.

The Strokes Foundation has been working without any donations. At a press conference held at Patrakar Bhavan, Chetan Pansare, its Founder Director, spoke about the importance of conserving art and how it is essential for the growth of society.

He invited Puneites to visit the foundation’s signature exhibition, which will be held on December 29 at Balgandharva Art Gallery. It will be inaugurated by senior artist SD Phadnis, Dhananjay Govardhane and Deepak Mankar.

Two ‘Chote Ustaads’ (child artists) of the foundation, Avni Navgane, and Sukhada Godse, displayed their skills in different painting strokes.
