Pune: No lockdown in district; don't believe in rumours, says District Collector

Pune: Amid COVID-19 cases rising in Pune city, rumours of lockdown were making round of the internet.

Putting end to all speculations, Pune District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh stated that there will be no lockdown in Pune.

From past few days, an old video-clip was surfaced online that the administration has declared 15-day lockdown in district. District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh on Saturday made clear that it is an old clip. People should not fall prey to any rumours.

The video clip of July 2020 went viral and created panic amongst Punekars from last two days. This has led to number of questions with the administration, forcing the Collector to clear the things. However, strict measures will be taken at all public places to contain the further spread of COVID infection.

Meanwhile, Saturday witnessed new 414 COVID -19 cases in Pune city taking total to 1,97,330. The city also reported five deaths on Saturday. On the positive front, 247 people were discharged from various hospitals in the city.
