Pune: Micro-blogging site and social networking service Twitter on Thursday (January 14) suspended the official account of Pune Municipal Corporation. However, the reason behind the suspension of the account could not be ascertained.

The process to recover the account is underway, informed PMC Additional Commissioner Rubal Agarwal. The official account of PMC on twitter was identified with the handle @PMCPune. It had more than 91 thousand followers. The account was created in 2015. When PMC officials and their social media realised that the account has been suspended by Twitter, they immediately approached the company and are in the process of restoring it.
