Pune, 28 October 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced that one lane of the Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar Flyover at Paud Phata, on the stretch from Nalstop towards Kothrud, will remain closed for a month starting October 27 to November 26, 2025.

According to Chief Engineer (Projects) Dinkar Gaikwad, the closure is necessary to carry out structural repairs and maintenance to ensure the flyover’s safety and durability. The repair work is aimed at preventing future damage and improving overall traffic flow.

During the repair period, the other lane will stay open for the movement of two-wheelers and light motor vehicles (LMVs). However, heavy vehicles traveling from Nalstop towards Kothrud have been asked to use alternate routes to avoid congestion.

PMC has appealed to citizens to cooperate and plan their travel in advance. The civic body expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience, emphasizing that the closure is essential for long-term road safety and smoother traffic movement in Pune.
