Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta leads blood donation drive

A total of 127 bottle units of blood were collected during the drive in which more than 125 cops participated.

Pune: Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta led the blood donation drive organised by the Pune City Traffic Police Branch recently on the occasion of Road Safety Week 2021. A total of 127 bottle units of blood were collected during the drive in which more than 125 cops participated.

The blood donation drive was organised with the help of Sassoon Hospital Blood Bank at the Police Hospital in Shivajinagar Police Headquarters between January 21 to 23. Dr Sudeshna Gajbhiye, Dr Neha Raghav, Dr Anuja, Dr Deepali from Sassoon Hospital blood bank and Dr Raut from the Police Hospital were present during the occasion.

Along with CP Gupta, Joint Commissioner of Police Dr Ravindra Shisve, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Rahul Shrirame, two Police Inspectors, five Assistant Police Inspectors and 116 personnel from the Traffic Police Branch participated in the blood donation drive.

A total 127 bottle units of blood were collected in the drive. Police Commissioner Gupta said since during the COVID19 pandemic, a shortage of blood has been created in the city. Hence to address this shortage the blood donation drive has been organised.
