The accused constable, Parmeshwar Manik Pakhare (37), is posted as a police havaldar at Wagholi Police Station. The complainant in the case had filed a maintenance claim against her husband back in 2015. In October 2024, the court ordered the husband to pay her ₹5,000 per month. However, he had accumulated arrears of around ₹6.75 lakh.

Following the non-payment, the woman approached the court again, after which the court issued a warrant for the recovery. She personally submitted this warrant to the Wagholi Police Station, where Pakhare was assigned the task of executing it.

The constable allegedly demanded ₹5,000 from the complainant to process the warrant and submit the report. Already dealing with unpaid maintenance dues, the woman approached the ACB and lodged a complaint.
