A video of Pune Porsche crash case accused Vishal Agarwal and his family dancing at a celebration has gone viral on social media, with many online linking it to his release on bail. In the clip, Agarwal and his wife are seen wearing garlands made of currency notes as the song “Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost” plays in the background. However, Agarwal has claimed the video was recorded months before the crash during the couple’s wedding anniversary celebration in Goa.
The video, now widely circulating online, is said to be from the days following the Supreme Court’s bail order on March 10. However, Agarwal has said the video was recorded months before the crash during a family event in Goa. It has sparked discussion on social media, though its authenticity has not been independently verified by The Bridge Chronicle.
Vishal Agarwal, father of the minor accused in the May 2024 Pune Porsche crash that killed two engineers, was granted bail after spending time in custody. The case had earlier triggered widespread outrage across Maharashtra, with the juvenile initially sent to an observation home and later granted bail by the court.
Agarwal and his wife were arrested for allegedly attempting to manipulate blood samples to show their son was not intoxicated during the Pune Porsche crash. He was also accused of pressuring their driver to take responsibility for the accident.
The Supreme Court granted Agarwal bail on March 10, noting he had been in custody for 22 months, while also restricting him from contacting witnesses.
On May 19, 2024, a Porsche allegedly driven by a minor under the influence of alcohol killed two people in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area. The case triggered nationwide outrage after the Juvenile Justice Board initially granted the teen bail within hours, later revising its stance on trial proceedings.
Following the video’s circulation online, Vishal Agarwal issued a statement claiming the clip was recorded on September 2, 2023, during the couple’s 25th wedding anniversary celebration at a hotel in Goa.
He said the event took place months before the Pune Porsche crash case was registered on May 19, 2024, and alleged that the video was being shared with misleading claims linking it to his bail. Agarwal urged media outlets and social media platforms to remove the clip and issue clarifications.
