Pune, 7th July 2025: The deadline to pay property tax with a rebate, extended by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), ends on Monday, July 7. So far, over 7.14 lakh property owners have paid more than ₹1,375 crore, availing the rebate benefits of 5% to 10% offered by the civic body.
Originally, the deadline was June 30, but due to heavy user traffic and server issues that disrupted online payments, the PMC extended the rebate window by seven days. Many citizens struggled to make payments online, spending hours trying to complete transactions. As a result, PMC’s citizen facilitation centres and regional offices witnessed long queues.
To ease the process, the PMC ramped up its offline collection counters and urged citizens to utilize all available modes to pay before the final deadline. The civic body clarified that no rebate would be available after July 7, and those who fail to pay in time will miss out on the financial benefit.
Despite the technical hurdles, the response has been significant, with lakhs of citizens showing promptness in fulfilling their tax obligations. Officials emphasized the importance of timely payments to help the civic administration maintain and upgrade public infrastructure.
PMC Deputy Commissioner (Property Tax) Avinash Sakpal appealed to residents to complete their tax payments by the deadline and take advantage of the rebate scheme, stating that all necessary arrangements have been made both online and at ward-level offices.
