Pune, 15th July 2026: An alert railway employee displayed exceptional courage by saving the life of an elderly Warkari devotee who accidentally fell onto the railway tracks in front of an approaching train in Pune.
The elderly devotee was travelling from Pune to Pandharpur for the Ashadhi wari when he reportedly lost his balance while boarding or getting off the train and fell onto the tracks. As a train approached, the situation turned critical within seconds.
A railway staff member, who was present nearby, immediately noticed the incident and rushed onto the tracks. Ignoring the risk to his own life, he quickly pulled the elderly man away from the tracks moments before the train reached the spot.
The timely action prevented what could have been a fatal accident and drew appreciation from passengers and witnesses present at the station.
The entire incident was recorded on the station's CCTV cameras. The footage shows the railway employee reacting instantly and safely rescuing the elderly Warkari just in time.
The video has since drawn widespread praise, with many appreciating the employee's presence of mind, courage and commitment to saving a passenger's life.
