

Pune, 24th June 2026: With arrival of southwest monsoon in the city, weather has cooled down with temperature nearly by 5°C in last 2 days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Yellow Alert for the next four days forecasting thunderstorms, lightning, and intermittent rainfall across the district.
After a brief pause in rainfall on Monday, showers returned in Pune on Tuesday, bringing much-needed relief from humid and uncomfortable weather conditions. Cloudy skies prevailed throughout the day, with light rain reported in several parts of the city during the afternoon.
The intensity of rainfall increased in the evening, with many central and suburban areas witnessing moderate to heavy showers.
The onset of the monsoon has led to a noticeable drop in temperatures. According to IMD data, Pune’s maximum temperature has fallen by nearly 5°C over the last two days. On Tuesday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 31°C and a minimum temperature of 24.5°C.
Weather officials expect temperatures to decline further in the coming days. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature is likely to remain around 30°C, while the minimum temperature may hover near 24°C. Light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected during the afternoon and evening hours.
From Thursday onwards, temperatures are likely to fall further, with the maximum temperature expected to touch 28°C and the minimum around 23°C. IMD has also predicted continued chances of thunderstorms, lightning, and light to moderate rainfall over Pune and nearby areas, keeping weather conditions pleasant through the week.
