Pune, 30 March 2026: City is likely to witness rainfall and thunderstorms between March 30 and April 2, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The forecast suggests that several parts of Maharashtra will also experience similar weather conditions, bringing a shift from the prevailing heat.
Since the beginning of March, Pune has been facing consistently high temperatures. Daytime temperatures have mostly remained above 35°C, with some areas recording figures close to 40°C. The heat has also extended into the nights, making conditions uncomfortable for residents.
On March 29, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 38.4°C, while the minimum temperature stood at 21°C, indicating warmer-than-usual nights as well.
The expected rainfall, particularly during late afternoon and evening hours, is likely to bring relief from the heat. The change in weather is expected to lower temperatures and provide a temporary break from the ongoing hot conditions in the city.
